SUPERIOR RELIABILITY
Iridium’s unique cross-linked Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) L-Band network delivers the highest reliability of any commercial satellite network and our cross-linked, meshed architecture provides redundancy afforded by no other commercial satellite constellation.

GLOBAL COVERAGE
Iridium’s constellation of 66 Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites is the only satellite network to provide pole-to-pole connectivity. The highly reliable, cross-linked network support markets that need the critical, real-time communications offered by Iridium everywhere in the world.

LOW PROFILE ANTENNAS
Iridium is the only network that can delivery reliable midband IP-based connectivity to small form factor, low-profile antennas.

MULTI-SERVICE FUNCTIONALITY
Iridium recognizes that the connectivity needs for IoT applications are as diverse as the missions they support. To provide maximum utility in the limited footprint available in many of these devices, Iridium platforms are designed to support a broad range of voice and data functions. No other satellite IoT connectivity solution delivers the versatility and value as Iridium.

CORE TECHNOLOGY
Small and highly mobile like previous Iridium devices, the introductory Iridium Certus midband transceiver, the Iridium CertusTM 9770, transfers IP data over 35 times faster than its predecessors, while also supporting high-quality voice connections. With L-Band speeds ranging from 22 Kbps to 88 Kbps, the Iridium Certus 9770 transceiver will expand the reach of satellite services to new markets, ranging from unmanned and autonomous drones to new personal communicators and remotely deployed IoT devices, all connected through Iridium’s global network.

CUTTING EDGE TERMINALS
Working with industry-leading manufacturers and service providers, Iridium Certus for IoT will deliver reliable midband connectivity to connected devices across industries and markets, expanding the range of speeds available through Iridium’s highly-reliable, low-latency global network. With small form factor transceivers and antennas and cost-effective hardware, new markets around the world will have access to Iridium Certus global services for the first time ever.

Iridium announced the initial 10 beta partners testing and developing new products based on the Iridium Certus 9770 in mid-2019. These partners received operational beta units which have been undergoing extensive testing to fine-tune both the new transceiver and the first new solutions they’ll enable.
